Tattoo Sponsorship for QTBIPOC

Tattoos are as queer as it gets. I can hardly think of anything more trans than exercising autonomy over one’s body. While there has always been strong queer presence in the industry, there has been an undue amount of discrimination against queer trans Black, Indigenous, and artists and clients of color. To create equitability in tattooing, and in the spirit of mutual aid, I am offering a tattoo sponsorship program where you can make a donation to allow QTBIPOC to access free and discounted tattoos.

How Tattoo Sponsorship Works

By providing tattoos at no cost through this project, QTBIPOC people will be given equitable access to an art that was formerly inclusive pre-colonization and be provided a way to be transformed by art in a trauma-informed and culturally-aware capacity.

By using a trauma-informed approach, tattoos allow people to reinforce authority and a sense of ownership over their own bodies. This is crucial for those who have had their physical autonomy taken from them such as: survivors, those who have been subject to institutional control, and trans people who have lacked access to appropriate medical care. These issues disproportionately affect QTBIPOC.

3% Cover the Fee

At this time, I am looking for donors to fund this program.

I am not currently accepting applications for tattoo recipients.

If you believe in this project, I am asking that you help promote this to possible donors. If you are resourced, or a high-earner, or have a company that would be interested in making a donation.

If you have any questions I’m just an email away.
